Your first 15 minutes

From an empty dashboard to a customer standing at your counter, in five steps.

The five steps

  1. 1

    Create your business

Sign up, then name your business. The name you choose becomes your queue address, so customers see it when they join. You can change it later in Settings.
  2. 2

    Set your hours and timezone

In Settings, set your opening and closing times and pick your timezone. LineMarshal refuses joins outside those hours, so nobody turns up to a closed door.
  3. 3

    Set your average service time

This is the single most important number you will enter. It is how long one customer typically takes. Every wait estimate and every "get ready" alert is calculated from it.
  4. 4

    Print your QR code

Open the QR Code tab, print the code and put it where people arrive. That is the whole customer-facing setup — they scan it with their phone camera, no app to download.
  5. 5

Open the queue and serve someone

Flip the queue open. When the first person joins, press Serve Next. Their screen turns green and they walk up. Press Complete when they are done.

What you just set up

A live queue

An ordered list of who is waiting, visible to you and to every customer on their own phone.

A way in

One printed code. Scanning it opens a browser page — no app, no account, no download.

Wait estimates

Calculated from your average service time and how many people are ahead.

Turn alerts

Customers are told when their turn is close and again when it arrives.

Get the service time roughly right, not perfectly right

Start with your honest guess. After a week, open your analytics and compare it against your measured average service time, then adjust. Wait estimates improve immediately.
