Every virtual queue is built from the same four parts: an entry point, a place record, a live status page, and a callback. The entry point is a printed QR code at your door. A customer points a phone camera at it, the join page opens in the browser, they type a name, and their place is stamped with the time they arrived. The status page is what makes waiting tolerable, because it answers the question people would otherwise walk to the desk to ask. It shows the customer position and an estimated wait built from the people ahead multiplied by your average service time, and it recalculates as the line moves.
