LineMarshal for Tournaments & Leagues
Round one is supposed to fire at ten, but you are still crossing names off a printout while the line snakes past the vendor tables. LineMarshal lets players scan a QR code at the door, shows you exactly who is in the room, and calls them back when you need them at a table.
Online registration said 64 players were coming, but the roster is not real until they walk in. Matching faces to a printout at the door is why start times slip. With a QR poster at the entrance, players check themselves in from their phone and you watch the confirmed count climb on your screen.
Generate pairings before you know who actually showed and round one opens with byes and empty seats. LineMarshal keeps a live roster of confirmed players, so you drop the no-shows in your pairing software before you hit pair. The pairing tool stays in charge of the bracket; LineMarshal just tells you who is really here.
The moment a round ends, players drift to the organiser's desk to ask when the next one starts, and you cannot enter results with a crowd at your elbow. When players know a call-back is coming to their phone, they wait at the snack bar or the vendor booths instead of at your table.
Deck checks, judge calls, and table assignments all start with someone yelling over a hundred conversations. A notification lands on the player's phone wherever they are standing, and the lobby TV shows who is being called. The player who stepped out to the food truck still makes it back in time.
Print the LineMarshal QR code and tape it at the entrance or the registration desk. Players scan it with their phone camera. No app, no account, no kiosk.
They enter their name and join the check-in queue. Your dashboard shows a live roster of who is physically in the room, and staff can add a player without a phone in concierge mode.
At start time, read the confirmed list off the LineMarshal board, drop the no-shows in your pairing software, and generate pairings. LineMarshal never touches the bracket; it tells you who showed.
Need someone for a deck check, a feature match, or their table? Advance the queue and they get a text as their turn comes up, while the TV display shows who is being called.
“We cap our monthly Magic tournament at 64 players, and check-in used to take two staff and twenty minutes. Now players scan on the way in, I watch the confirmed count climb from the stage, and we have fired round one on time three events running.”

Specific questions from tournaments & leagues operators.
No, and it does not try to. Pairings, brackets, and scoring stay in whatever your event already runs, whether that is the official app for your card game or the bracket site your league uses. LineMarshal handles the step before and between: confirming who is physically present and calling players when you need them. There is no integration between the two, so you read the confirmed roster off the LineMarshal board and drop no-shows in your pairing software by hand. At a 60-player event that is about a minute of work.
Same day only. On the Max plan with Dynamic Scheduling turned on for a lane, a player scanning the QR code can pick a named staff member and a time slot, or just join the walk-in line. The bookable window runs from now to the end of that person's shift, so nobody can reserve a slot for next weekend. One honest caveat: the time picker does not check availability, so two players can pick the same slot. You will see them side by side on the board and sort it out, which at an event desk is usually fine.
Analytics come with every plan: Customers Served, Busiest Hour, Average Wait Time, Show Rate, Average Service Time, Total People, and No Shows, over a 7, 14, or 30 day window. For a weekly league that tells you what share of registered players really check in, when the door rush peaks, and how long people wait to be seen. Per-station breakdown, for example the judge desk versus the prize wall, is on the Max plan.
No. The QR code opens a page in their phone browser where they type a name and join. That page shows their live position and estimated wait until you call them. A player without a smartphone gets added by a staffer in concierge mode in a few seconds.
Free covers 50 check-ins a month, which handles a 10-player weekly. Pro at $49 a month raises the volume for busier stores. SMS text alerts, separate lanes per station, Any Available routing, and the provider day calendar are Max at $69 a month, which is where events large enough to need call-backs by text usually land. The lobby TV display is included on every plan.
Three ways at once. Their own phone shows their live position, the TV display shows who is up, and on Max a text goes out as their turn approaches. Between those, nobody has to shout a name over a hundred conversations, and the player who stepped out for food still makes it back for their match.
A tournament that fires on time keeps players coming back next month. LineMarshal takes the door, the roster, and the call-backs off your clipboard, and leaves the pairings to the software you already run. Start free today.
